11/2008 - Arsenal Girls 2008 District Cup Finalist! For the second straight year the Girls reached the District II Cup final against MVLA. Unfortunately, the Girls once again lost a tough match to MVLA Dynamite, but nonetheless played a very good match. Congratulations, Girls on your fourth tournament final in 2008.


11/2008 - Arsenal Girls Win Another Abronzino Title! The Girls once again took top spot in the top division of Abronzino's fall league. Arsenal finished with a goal differential of 26 GF and 4 GA. This goal differential shows how well the Girls played from the Goalkeeper to the backs through the midfield to the forwards. Congratulations, Girls on another successful season.


10/2008 - Arsenal Girls take 3rd in Placer Prestige Cup!


8/2008 - Arsenal Girls Magic Cup Finalist! The Girls finished their summer tournament schedule by reaching the Magic Cup final. Their third final in four tournaments. The Girls had to play a tough semi-final against a great Bay Oaks team. The match was tied 1-1 at the final whistle. The Girls went into extra time and that scoreline held meaning the Girls were going to penalty kicks to determine who went through to the final. The Girls prevailed on PKs and went through. In the final the Girls faced State Cup Champions, Mustang Mavericks. In a match that was the third of the day for both teams where both sides were very tired, Mustang outplayed Arsenal and prevailed 2-0. Still a very successful tournament for the Arsenal Girls to prevail over a very deep tournament field. Congrats, Girls, on two championship trophies and one second place finish in four tournaments this summer. Job well done!


8/2008 - Arsenal Girls ranked #1 in the Nation by gotsoccer.com! In the most recent gotsoccer.com national rankings, the Girls received the #1 ranking in the nation for the U12 age bracket. The Girls were tied with the Fort Collins Arsenal for the #1 spot. Certainly an honor that will be remembered and something that not many teams can say they attained. Congrats, Girls.

6/2008 - Arsenal Girls capture the California Cup! The Girls added the coveted California Cup to their trophy cabinet this past weekend. In an event that tested players' mental and physical fitness, the Girls held strong and earned the moniker of Cal Cup Champs. The Girls finished the group stage with victories over San Ramon Inferno, 7-0; San Juan Spirit Blue, 2-0; and Placer United Black, 4-0. In the Semi-Final the Girls matched up with Bay Oaks and in a tough fought match the Girls came out on top with a 1-0 victory. In the final, The Girls would face Casa Boca Jrs who knocked off State Cup finalist, Elk Grove. It was 0-0 at halftime in the championship match. The Girls netted a fantastic goal with 10 minutes left in the match. Having gone all tournament without conceding one goal, the defense held strong and finished off the final ten minutes without conceding. The Girls finished the tournament with a 15-0 goal differential and was the Arsenal Girls second consecutive tournament without conceding a goal. The Girls left the smokey Sacramento Valley as the Cal Cup Champs. Congrats, Girls.

5/2008 - Arsenal Girls capture Tracy Orange Bowl title! The Girls added to their trophy cabinet this Memorial weekend by winning the 1st Annual Tracy Orange Bowl Tournament. The Girls were solid all weekend scoring 14 goals and conceding 0. In their first match vs. California Odyssey Red the Girls pressed the attack and went up 2-0 at half. Against a very good opponent the Arsenal defense held firm limiting Odyssey to very few threatening opportunities. The defense was instrumental in starting the Arsenal attack from the back. In the second half the Girls netted two more goals on their way to a final score of 4-0. Their second matchup on day one was against Stockton Storm. In a repeat performance with great play from the backs, midfield and attacking players the girls worked their way to another 4-0 victory. Day two saw the Arsenal Girls matched up against the host team, Tracy Triumph, in the Semi-Final. The first half was a tight affair with Arsenal leading 2-0 at halftime. For most of the second half the Tracy defense held Arsenal in check denying several scoring opportunites. But, late in the second half the Girls netted 3 more goals in just seven minutes of play and finshed wit ha 5-0 victory in the semi-final. The final was to be a re-match with California Odyssey. Odyssey came out and played very stingy defensively limiting Arsenal to only a few chances. The Arsenal midfield and backs kept Odyssey to only the occasional threat on goal. At halftime the score was 0-0. Early in the second half an Arsenal attack created a handball in Odyssey's penalty area giving Arsenal a penalty chance which was cooly taken and converted giving Arsenal a 1-0 lead. Arsenal held strong defensively again and thwarted any chances Odyssey had to score. The Girls won the tournament with a tough fought 1-0 victory. Congratulations, Girls, on another wonderful tournament victory.



4/2008 - Arsenal Girls capture their 50th league victory! Playing in an age group one year older than them, the Girls secured their 50th league victory. All fifty wins have come playing in the top division with the last three playing as a U11 team in the U12 age group. The Girls walked away with victories against three tough Class 1 U12 teams; Hollister, SASC, and Stanford Typhoons. In their first match of this spring the girls scored in the first few minutes on their second attack to go up 1-0 against a tough Hollister team. Throughout the match the girls created a few more opportunities and the defense held strong limiting Hollister to only a couple shots on goal. It was an impressive start to their spring campaign. In their second match against Sunnyvale Alliance the Girls came out firing creating several scoring opportunities in the first fifteen minutes. Again the Arsenal defense was strong halting all threats on their goal. When it was finished the Girls came out ahead 3-0. In the third match of the spring campaign the Girls faced a quality Stanford side. The Girls took a 1-0 lead into halftime on a great goal. In the second half the Girls faced constant pressure, however were able to net two more goals on the counter attack. Stanford got one goal back to make the score 3-1, however the defense was again solid. Under continuous pressure the Girls held firm pushing back Stanford's attack and not letting them get many quality opportunities. These three victories put the Girls at the top of the table with 9 points. This is a great start to what will continue to be a tough spring season playing these older teams.


1/2008 - Mustang Winter Turf Invitational Finalist! The Girls fought through some of the worst weather our area has seen in years to emerge as a Finalist in the Winter Turf tournament held in Danville. In the first match, the Girls endured three stoppages due to lightning and had to play on a rain soaked pitch. The Girls dealt with the weather Mother Nature handed them and came out a 2-0 winner over Mustang Extreme. On Sunday, the weather held off and the Girls faced Pleasanton Rage on a chilly morning. In a tough match against a quality side the Girls held strong and came out ahead 2-0 when the final whistle blew. The final group match was against a challenging Elk Grove team. The Girls fell behind twice during the match, however that did not stop them. The played hard, controlled most of the match and fought back to equalize twice. The Girls only needed a draw to make it to the final as the match ended 2-2. The final was to pit the Girls vs. Mustang Mavericks. However, the weather on Saturday caused the championship match to be canceled. Overall it was another successful tournament showing for the Girls.

12/2007 - CV Arsenal NorCal State Cup Gold Division Champions! After two chilly days of soccer, the Girls emerged as Champions of the NorCal State Cup Gold Division. Saturday the girls faced a tough Santa Rosa side in the Semi-Final match. At halftime, the score was 2-1 to the Arsenal. In the second half the Girls displayed their quality as they netted three goals and came close on several other chances. Final score: Arsenal 5 - SRU 1. Sunday morning the Girls faced a tough, physical side in Eureka Magic. At halftime, the score was 1-0 to the Magic. However, the match wasn't done. In the second half the Girls came out attacking and produced several excellent scoring opportunities. After about six minutes into the second half the Girls netted their first goal via an excellent pass from the midfield and a beautiful finish. At the 20th minute the Girls scored their second goal on a finish marked by pure determination. The Girls held on for the final ten minutes and were crowned Champions. Their third Championship trophy of 2007. Congratulations, Girls!


11/2007 - Arsenal Girls District Cup Finalist. The Girls had another excellent showing in the 2007 Class 1 District Cup. Coming out of group play the Girls had accumulated the most points with victories over Union FC, OV Chaos, and SCC Breakers. In the final, the Girls faced a tough MVLA team. After a 0-0 draw through full time and two over time periods the match went to penalty kicks. The Girls lost a tough fought match on penalty kicks. Overall, though it was another successful showing by the Arsenal Girls in a tough match where they controlled most of the play. Congrats, Girls on another tournament final.

11/2007 - Arsenal Girls win 4th Championship - Undefeated Once Again! The Girls capped off their fourth undefeated season winning another Abronzino Top Division Championship. Once again the Girls led the leage in Goal Differential with 27 Goals For and only 9 Goals Against. In a tough match against a quality Hollister side the Girls stayed strong coming from behind to settle for a draw earning them the Championship. Congratulations, Girls, on another stellar year winning both the Spring and Fall titles.


10/2007 - Arsenal Girls ranked #6 in Nation! In the most recent gotsoccer.com rankings the Girls are ranked 3rd in NorCal, 5th in Region IV (Western U.S.), and 6th in the entire nation. This is a great accomplishment for the girls and a wonderful recognition of their hard work. Well done, Girls!

8/2007 - Arsenal Girls Magic Cup I Champions. The Girls captured their first title of 2007 by playing quality soccer in Morgan Hill. With an overall goal differential of 15 GF and 2 GA, the Girls demonstrated their ability to attack and defend. On Saturday, the Girls defeated Union FC 5-0 and MVLA Spirit 4-0. Sunday they faced tough competition with a match versus one of their biggest rivals, Almaden Fusion. The Girls played extremely well beating Almaden 3-1. In the final, the Girls were slated to face Hollister. In a tough match in hot weather the Girls started slow but in Arsenal fashion they got on track and held firm winning the Championship Match 3-1. Congratulations, Girls, on a great tournament.

7/2007 - Arsenal Girls train with England's Chelsea FC Coaches. The Girls had the pleasure of training with coaches from the Chelsea FC staff last weekend. Chelsea is one of the top Football Clubs in the world. This was a great opportunity for the Girls and they made the most of it. The Chelsea coaches held a challenging yet fun session. When all was said and done after some good natured ribbing on the Girls' Arsenal name and gear, the Chelsea Coaches were impressed with the Girls' technical skills and raved about their abilities. We really want to thank Chelsea FC for giving us this memorable opportunity.


6/2007 - Arsenal Girls win their 3rd league championship in five seasons! For the fifth consecutive season the Girls have led the top division in Goal Differential; likely the most important team stat in soccer. Goal differential recognizes the team's ability to attack and score as well as their ability to defend. If you put the two together you will have success. The Girls have continued to stay on top of this category and the result has been clear; 3 Championships. Congratulations, Girls!!


3/2007 - Arsenal Girls Featured In Two Television Commercials! The Girls got their first taste of Hollywood while filming a TV commercial for an Italian Pasta Company. The team had a lot of fun and the girls were fantastic in front of the camera. In their second commercial the girls filmed a scene for the Silver Creek Soccer Complex in San Jose. These were both wonderful experiences for the Girls. Not only can you win with this team you can also be on TV!


3/2007 - Arsenal Girls 2007 OTW Indoor Champions. The Girls finished their second consecutive undefeated indoor soccer season capturing their second title in a row. Congratulations, Girls!


3/07 - Arsenal Girls begin 2007 friendlies with two quality victories. In the Girls first experience on a fullsize field, the Girls pulled out a quality win vs. Burlingame Thunder, 3-1. In their second friendly of the season, the Girls beat the U12 CV Revolution, 6-0. The Girls played fantastic soccer in both matches. It's been a great start to our 2007 campaign.


8/20/06 - Arsenal Girls receive early acceptance to the 2006 Girls Surf Cup in San Diego. Congratulations, Girls, on this fantastic honor!


6/03/2006 - Arsenal Girls U9 District II Top Division Spring Champions - Undefeated Again! The Girls capped off their second perfect campaign in a row with a 4-1 victory over a quality OV Chaos side. Only up 1-0 at halftime, in typical Arsenal Girls fashion the team came out in the second half with quality passing and striking and finished the match netting three more goals. This capped their second Top Division campaign without a loss. Another tremendous accomplishment for the Girls!
