Coach: Chuck Konrad
Coach Chuck was born and raised in Santa Clara, CA. As a
youth player, coach Chuck played for the Santa Clara United
Rowdies and District 2 ODP. He was a three sport First Team
All SCVAL and All-CCS athlete in Soccer, Football, and
Baseball at Wilcox High School and was the 1984 recipient
of his school's Scholar-Athlete of the year award. Chuck
was also nominated for the prestigious High School
Penninsula Athlete of the Year award. Coach Chuck was a JC
First Team All-State and First Team All-American at De Anza
College where he led the nation in punting. Coach Chuck
went on to play football as a placekicker and punter on
full scholarship at Miami University where he was a
two-time AP All-American and led the Conference in punting
his junior and senior years. After college he signed with
the Cleveland Browns as a placekicker and punter. Although
many of his higher athletic achievements were in football,
Coach Chuck is a soccer player at heart. His first coaching
'job' was in the 4th grade when he was asked by his high
school principal to teach the younger kids how to play
soccer. Coach Chuck has over 20 years of coaching
experience at all levels with multiple sports. Coach Chuck
has coached CV Arsenal since their inception at U8. He is
also a District 2 ODP coach and a Cal North State team
evaluator. Chuck holds a USSF E/D license.
Coach: Roy Sanfilippo
Coach Roy was born and raised in Santa Clara, CA. He was
a talented two sport athlete in high school. His high
school soccer highlight was the opportunity to travel to
Holland and test his skills against several Dutch teams
with his Buchser high school team. Coach Roy was an All
SCVAL and All-CCS athlete and was also nominated for the
prestigious High School Penninsula Athlete of the Year
award. He went on to win a State Championship in baseball
in Junior College and starred as a scholarship pitcher for
San Jose State. Coach Roy has over 16 years of coaching
experience. Soccer is the game Coach Roy has always held
dear. Coach Roy has coached CV Arsenal since their
inception at U8. He holds a USSF 'F' license.
